Renowned chess master, Tunde Onakoya, who commenced his mission to surpass the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon has reached a 57-hour mark, surpassing the previous record of 56 hours and 9 minutes.
In an arduous effort to raise funds and awareness for providing educational opportunities to underprivileged children across Africa, Onakoya currently aims at reaching the 58-hour target.
The previous Guinness World Record record of 56-hour, 9-minute mark, was set by Norwegian players Hallvard Haug Flatebø and Sjur Ferkingstad in 2018.
