Late Margaret Nwomeh, Mother of Dan Nwomeh buried

The remains of Ezinne- Margaret Nwomeh, mother of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Mainstream media, Hon Dan Nwomeh, has been committed to mother Earth in her compound, Umuokorouba village, Ozalla, Nkanu West Local Government Area, Enugu state, Nigeria.

In his homily at the funeral church service held on Saturday,at St Paul’s Catholic Church,Ozalla, Rev Fr Anthony Igwe extolled the virtues of Ezinne Margret Nwomeh, who was a parishioner and Life member at the Church.

He described her as a Prayerful, hardworking , humble,responsible, caring, dedicated , loving and devoted woman who lost her husband at an early age of 23, held herself,gave her children good training and sound education. He said through her career as a health worker Ezinne Margret impacted the lives of many in her community.

Rev Fr Igwe said “mama served God to the best of her ability”. He admonished Christians to make an impact wherever they are, saying ” our mother believed in God strongly. She does not believe in half a Christian, half a Pagan , She was a life member. She knew what she wanted for her children.She stood for the truth. Mama was principled, obedient, She was honest. She does not compromise.

The Priest called on the children to uphold the virtues of obedience , hard work, prayerful life, love, kindness and humility which their mother exhibited while alive.. He said ,”Learn her simplicity, prayerful life, dedication. Mama is speaking to all of us:. Mama showed her children love and enjoyed them”

In their tribute, the children of Ezinne- Nwomeh, Angela, Ben, Ijeoma, Dan and Eddy, said their mother taught them” to love and fear God and to have faith in His blessings and protection”.

They wrote: the ordeal and challenges their mother endured as a young 23-year- old widow with five children.

“Mum taught us the true meaning of unconditional love. For all these, we thank our Mother Ezinne Margaret Nebechi Nwomeh for her lifetime of love and devotion to us. You are the glue that has made this family together. Because of you, Peter Nwomeh has become an icon for the ages.”

In their separate vote of thanks, sons of the deceased, Prof Ben Nwomeh and Hon Dan Nwomeh promised to sustain the legacies their mother left behind.

Dignitaries at the funeral , included the Governor of Enugu state, Dr Peter Mbah, who was represented by the state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon Aka Eze Aka, Commissioners, Hon. Festus Adedayo. former Chief Press Secretary to the former Governor of Enugu state, Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani , heads of agencies and parastatals, former and serving Special Advisers( SPAs), Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) traditional rulers , members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, friends and relations among others.

Ezinne Margaret i Nwomeh died at the age of 77. She is survived by five children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, relatives , friends and well-wishers.
